Back to serious school shite and i am freaking out. I was terribly tired, flu like symptoms and now feeling much better!(ill try to fake it)

I recently wrote down my political views. I had to rant in order to feel better:

Politicians are supposed to be the “watch dogs” of the people; they are supposed to look out for them and know what decisions to take since they are supposed to have experts advising them and pointing us in the right direction. I believe that there are 3 important things that every human needs; that would be clean water to drink, food to eat and fresh air to breathe; therefore we should not be damaging to the purifying natural cycles that guide our world. North American politics have failed. They say we have rights, but it’s no better than a dictatorship. We are slaves to the dollar, and I don’t like that. I don’t believe in a world where a select few make millions off the backs of the people. I believe that corporations should be government owned and run. In Québec, we should be using our resources to fuel our businesses, like Hydro Québec, and Bombardier. We shouldn’t be exporting our resources to the highest bidder. And with globalization, resource based economy is controlled by the international market, and is usually quite low gain. Once these resources are gone, they are gone. We need specialty products to export, be self sufficient and be proud of our local economies. Agriculture has become so monoculturalized and we have lost the diversity and best tasting fruits and vegetable that native populations have bred and cross-bred since the dawn of agriculture. Today, agriculture focuses on the fastest growing, and more money making. But with increased use of pesticides and insects acquiring resistances, and exponential human population to feed; increased cancers and increased fossil fuel consumption is a byproduct of this “ progress”. Also globalization has brought food costs to an all time low, which has pushed local agriculture out of business. We are approaching a time where we are going to have to come up with technology to replace what nature is doing for us for free. If we take this into consideration, the costs especially, they should be giving tax breaks to people who own swamps, aquifers, and forested areas. Pesticides should be outlawed, the biochemical and chemical industries should be government owned and on close watch, and actually doing research for the good of human-kind (and not selling chemicals to developing countries). I see a need for a huge social change, in the way people view the world. They have gotten so disconnected with the world, that they forget that they are also part of the cycle. I see a government where municipal politics does a lot more. It has to start where each and every town does its part and becomes leaders in the way things should be. Waste management is becoming a problem. We use too much and waste too much. I believe in reduction of plastics in commercial goods. I don’t like plastics but they are very important in keeping medical equipment sterile. Fossil fuel use should be kept for automobiles and world transportation is going to have to diminish. Composting service should be the norm. Watershed protection is important to me as well. Ancient septic tanks and dumping waste water into the ocean or closest water should be outlawed, and every home should have gray water filtering systems and septic holding tanks where a municipal service empties the tanks every few months and brings it to a water sanitizing facility. Solar power and wind power should be everywhere by now. Trees should not be cut around water. There are laws against this, but rarely is it enforced. Forestry and the fisheries need a huge reorganization. Hunting is so closely link with conservation of natural habitat that I must be an advocate of it. Also linking the act of killing an animal to the eating of store bought meat. The meat industry is very energy consuming; hunting is not. And I don’t want to have to stop hunting because the habitats have become so contaminated that we can’t eat the meat. Eating fish has become dangerous, with bioaccumulation of heavy metals and toxins, so much so that the fishing industry is virtually gone. Also, I am against the federal government because our politics are run by an archaic British system; A system that the founders of the Republic of the United States of America had gotten away from. And the forefathers knew that this doctrine would have to be adapted to the times, since they knew nothing about globalization, global warming and over population. They lived in a world of endless resources, and low populations. But politics is still not adapted to the increase in world population. Politics have been adapted to favor corporations, to the advantage of a select few, the economy and has brainwashed the population that this is what we need. And they let the brainwashed voters speak. Politics has become a job, where you show up, look good and get paid, no matter what happens. I believe that today’s politicians squabble over meaningless matter in order to avoid the real problems of the world. The Irish came over to the Americas looking for a new life, away from British rule. We were looking for people to coexist with and build a new society with the Amerindian and French. And here we are today, still under British rule. Nothing has changed. I grew up in a small town, part of an English minority; living with a language racism barrier. Even though I am half French, to the francophones, I was a “tete-carré” and to the real English, I am “the frenchie”. People would look at me weird when I would agree with separation and talk about running our country. I would end up talking to people who would say that they are separatists, and well they would not give me good reasons and end up sounding as brainwashed as the rest of the sheep; Political views passed on by parents, along with a hate for English people. René Leveque was the last person with enough guts to run a country. His party has lived on, but I don’t have faith in anything of what they have to say today. We have much fresh water, Hydro-Québec, Bombardier, lots of resources still, and a beautiful place to live; but all they can think about is preservation of the French language and keeping English Quebecers down. And with the increase of immigration to Québec, and the addition of other languages as competition, well I don’t see this as a good argument to found a country. They say politics is becoming “green”, but this a lie. If they were really becoming “green”, some of the things I’ve mentioned would be fixed by now. I keep thinking that my views are more municipal, and some days I think it is more provincial, but I think in truth, that I am a Federalist, I see a future with French as the second language of Canada, and I see a huge reorganization in Federal politics. That way we could fix water protection, fisheries, international affairs and Aboriginal rights (federal jurisdiction). I have visions of a Republic of Canada, just as the states moved away from British rule. There are francophone communities all over Canada (Manitoba especially) and can’t turn our backs on them by separating. We have to give them their rights and heritage back. This isn’t Europe and we shouldn’t handle our country as if it were. But we do need to be the forerunners of the revolution. I want my many children to grow up in a paradise and will do my best to teach them these things along with respect for the planet. Family is also quite important to me, and I do dream of having “une grande table entouré de mes enfants,” comme Mes Ayeux l’ont dis.

Don't associate me to today's PQ seperatists. I just want politicians who say it as it is, avoid bullshit, and fix what is wrong with the picture. Not become a pawn of the system. No need to be politically correct about it either.

Don't say you don't care.

Hey sweet Pete-Mo!

Don't worry about the M.I.A...we were worried about you (to say the least!) but don't worry, we're not mad about the movie...we ended up having enough zombies for the big finale at the barn (I dyed my hair red with temp dye to play nother zombie) and the movie was a success! When you come down at Christmas, we'll show you...heck, if the timing is right, and you're keen on it, we can get steal you for another project I have in the works...it's a bit more noir, and about vampires...you can be the Army doctor, or the poor unfortnate 'Blood donor', let's cross our fingers ;)

I empathize with you on the priorities...Mine are starting to come around...starting sorting out a few, now I have to keep on . Tophe has his eye on a few Universities, but he can fill you in on the details at Christmas time....don't want to take away from Ultra-Male Testosterone bonding ;P

Tophe's throat is doing much better....some days are better than others, but in general he's made progress....he has another rendez-vous with the doc in Quebec either this week or next week he's aiming for next week though...

As for me, All is quiet on my end....my time is split equally between Chandler with Tophe and home with my family. My work at the museum is finished for now...my time is quiet but I know I could be doing more...however, this is somehting we can discuss further over a pint next time you come around home, ol' boy ;)

Anyways chum, don't be a stranger, we miss you terribly, and we send warm karma your way for the cold days ahead... take care of yourself, there is a shortage of the intelligent and the loyal in the 21st century.

hugs and Plato volumes,

-Sah-

There is no greater feeling.
Then that of possibility.
This even relates to the Ant.
